If you want to use Arrow on Safari, we recommend that you install the Arrow Smart Extension for Safari. You'll have access to more of Arrow's features and tools without needing to open the separate Arrow macOS app. The Safari extension has our feature-rich extension pop-up and in-browser vault view, as well as the best Autofill capabilities that Arrow has to offer.

How Autofill works
What do the different Arrow D icon colors mean for Autofill?
Arrow displays small versions of our company logo whenever a field on a website can be autofilled or saved. The color of the Arrow D shows what your next step is. A dark green D icon means Arrow has the information, and a gray D icon means Arrow doesn't yet have this information.
When you log in to a website on your Android, iPhone, or iPad, Arrow D icons don't appear in form fields.

A dark green Arrow D
If the field is for a password field to register on a website or change your password, click in the field and select Use generated password.
In the pop-up, select your email address or username next to the lock icon to save the new password in Arrow. You'll receive a "Login updated" pop-up to confirm the change.
Be sure to select "Change password" on the website as needed.
A gray Arrow D
A gray D icon means we've detected the field but don't see the appropriate data in your Arrow account to autofill the field. You can select the gray D icon to add a login to your vault. Make sure to create your login on the website with the info generated in Arrow.
You can also select the 3-dot menu in the pop-up to autofill something else.
If you have an existing account on this website and want Arrow to remember your login details, enter your username and password and log in. Arrow asks if you want to save this data as a new login. Then the login can be autofilled the next time you want to log in to this website.
Both a gray and a green Arrow D
As we mentioned earlier, a dark green D icon means Arrow has the information, and a gray D icon means Arrow doesn't yet have this information.
If Arrow can autofill your username or email but shows a gray D icon for your password, select one of your usernames or email addresses in the first field. Then provide your password manually in the second field and log in. Arrow asks if you want to save this account. You can also select the gray D icon and add a login or autofill something else.

Does Arrow support passkeys?
Yes. Arrow customers can now use passkeys instead of passwords to log in to compatible sites and apps.
If you log in to a website that uses passkeys while logged in to the latest version of the Arrow Smart Extension, we'll ask you if you want to register and save a passkey. When you go back to a website with a passkey saved in Arrow, we'll ask you if you want to log in using the passkey.

Configuring Autofill
Can Arrow autofill Basic and Digest HTTPS authentication pop-ups?
Yes. Arrow can log you into your accounts using HTTPS Basic and Digest Authentication. After you save the login in Arrow, Arrow logs you in automatically whenever you visit the website.
This works best with only one login saved per website and is currently available only in Chrome and Firefox for secured websites—https, not http.
I don't want to use Autofill. Can I still save my logins in Arrow?
If Arrow behaves in a way you don't expect or you don't want Arrow to display the autofill menu with your data, you can turn off Autofill for certain types of information. You can still access all of your logins and data in your vault. When you want to use any of your logins, open Arrow, copy the information, and paste it into the website fields.
Turn off Autofill for a website, form field, or specific vault items
Due to a limitation on Safari’s side, the copy and paste pop-ups for entering vault information without Autofill are unavailable with the Arrow Smart Extension for Safari. Instead, you can use the right-click menu to autofill your username, password, payment info, or other data stored in your vault, in any field.
