When you log in to Arrow, you might be asked for a 6-digit token or code as a security measure to verify your identity and protect your data. The token or code is used in the 2-factor authentication (2FA) process as the second step of authentication, in addition to your Master Password and Arrow ID. Your Arrow ID is the email address you use to log in to Arrow.
We ask for a 6-digit token or code in two situations when you're logging in to Arrow:
- When you log in with 2FA turned on for your Arrow account
- When you log in to Arrow for the first time on a new device or in a new browser
Where do I find tokens and codes?
You can get your tokens and codes in two places:
- If you've turned on 2FA to protect your Arrow account, you'll get 2FA tokens from an authenticator app
- If you haven't turned on 2FA, you'll get verification codes in your contact email inbox when you log in to Arrow for the first time on a new device or in a new browser

Get 6-digit 2FA tokens from your authenticator app
If you've turned on 2FA to protect your Arrow account, you need to enter a 6-digit token to complete the login process. Depending on the settings you choose when turning on 2FA, you'll need to enter the token every time you log in or only when you log in on a new device or in a new browser.
You get the 6-digit token from your authenticator app. Authenticator apps include Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, and others.
After entering your login email address, you'll enter the token before you enter your Master Password.

Get 6-digit verification codes in your email
When you use Arrow for the first time on a new device or in a new browser, we ask you to take an extra step to confirm that you're the person logging in. We sometimes call this step "authenticating" your device or adding an "authorized device."
If you haven't turned on 2FA, we'll send the 6-digit verification code to your Arrow contact email address. If you don't see the code, make sure to check your spam folder.
