Install the Arrow Smart Extension

Using Arrow on your computer works best when you download the Arrow Smart Extension. An extension—also called a plug-in—is a small program that adds features to your browser. We recommend pinning the extension to your browser toolbar to find it easily.

Note: You can use the Arrow Smart Extension in most browsers on your computer but not on mobile devices. The browser DuckDuckGo doesn't currently support extensions. So you can't use the Arrow extension with DuckDuckGo. If you want to use Arrow on a phone or tablet, install the Arrow mobile app.

To use Arrow, you need a recent version of your computer or browser so that you can make the most of our apps and keep your data secure. The term "minimum requirements" refers to the earliest version of each device and browser that you can use with our apps.

Select the browser you're using to learn how to install the Arrow Smart Extension.

Install the Arrow Smart Extension in Chrome and Chromium browsers

These steps work for Google Chrome and several other browsers based on Google's Chromium code base, like Opera and Brave.

1. Go to the Arrow extension page in the Chrome Web Store
2. Select Add to Chrome.
3. Select Add extension.

1. Go to the Arrow extension page in the Microsoft Edge Add-ons store
2. Select Get.
3. In the pop-up, select Add extension.

Install the Chrome extension in Microsoft Edge

1. Select the Extensions menu, shown as a puzzle piece.
2. In the pop-up, select Manage extensions.
3. Turn on Allow extensions from other stores and then select Allow.

   

4. Go to the Arrow extension page in the Chrome Web Store
5. Select Add to Chrome. If you see Remove from Chrome you already have the extension installed.
6. Select Add extension to confirm you want to add the extension to your browser.

   

7. Pin the extension to your browser toolbar to find it easily.

Install the Arrow Smart Extension in Firefox

1. Go to the Arrow extension page in Firefox
2. Select Add to Firefox.

   

3. In the pop-up choose whether you want to allow this extension to Run in Private Windows and select Add.

   

4. If you choose not to allow the extension to run in private windows, we'll ask you for permission to collect and store data such as email addresses, websites you visit, and your usage data. Select Agree to complete the installation.

Install the Arrow Smart Extension in Safari

1. Select Safari in the Safari browser toolbar and then select Safari Extensions.

   

2. Search for "Arrow" and select the download icon for Arrow - Password Manager.
3. Quit and reopen Safari.
4. Select Safari in the Safari browser menu bar again and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version.
5. We'll ask you to turn on the Arrow Smart Extension if you haven't already.

Pin the Arrow Smart Extension to your browser toolbar so you can find it easily

Pin the Arrow Smart Extension in Chrome

1. In your browser toolbar, select the Extensions icon, shown as a puzzle piece or a cardboard box.
2. In the pop-up, select the Pin icon next to the Arrow extension. The Pin icon turns blue, and the Arrow D appears in the browser toolbar.

1. In your browser toolbar, select the Extensions icon, shown as a puzzle piece.
2. Select the Show in toolbar icon, shown as an eye with a slash through it, next to the Arrow extension. The slash disappears from the eye, and the Arrow D appears next to the search bar.

Pin the Arrow Smart Extension in Firefox

Firefox automatically pins your extension to the toolbar. You should see the Arrow D whenever you open your browser. If not, you can pin the extension yourself.

1. Select the Extensions menu, shown as a puzzle piece, in your browser toolbar.
2. Select the gear icon for Arrow or right-click the Arrow D icon.
3. Select Pin to Toolbar.

1. In the Extensions tab, select the checkbox for Arrow.
2. Clear the checkboxes for any older versions of Arrow.
3. Close the window.
