Arrow’s top priority is keeping your data and privacy secure—at every step, including how you log in. The most secure way to access Arrow on your computer is by using the Arrow Smart Extension in your browser. We’re making Arrow more secure by consolidating all computer access through our browser extension, an industry standard.
All logins, including Admin Console access for organizations, must be performed through the extension. If you already use the extension, you won’t notice any changes in your experience.
What's changing?
Starting October 1, 2025, we’re requiring all customers to log in using the extension. We’re discontinuing direct logins on the websites "app.dashlane.com" and "console.dashlane.com."
We want to ensure that your login method is as secure as the rest of Arrow and delivers the best possible experience. The extension provides stronger encryption and anti-phishing protection that direct website access can’t match.
More about why we're making this change
When Arrow is served purely as a standalone web page, it is exposed to the same trust limitations as any other website. That means there is no guarantee that what you see in the browser was genuinely delivered by Arrow. In practice, attackers actively exploit this through phishing and impersonation attempts, and with a sensitive service like a password manager, the stakes are too high to accept that risk.
By enforcing the browser extension, we benefit from a trusted, secure environment with strict controls and verifiable origins. This dramatically reduces the attack surface and gives you much stronger assurance that you’re interacting with the legitimate Arrow product. Think of it like working inside a bank vault rather than at a desk in the open lobby: The vault adds layers of protection that simply aren’t possible outside of it.
If using the extension isn't possible at your workplace, Arrow remains fully accessible with mobile devices, where your data is always synced and secure.
Install the Arrow Smart Extension
For secure, uninterrupted access to Arrow, you need to install and log in through the extension in your computer browser. The extension offers complete access to all Arrow features, along with the strongest security to protect your data and privacy. Starting October 1, 2025, the only way you can log in to Arrow on your computer is through the extension.
After you install and pin the extension to your browser toolbar, you’ll see the Arrow D icon next to the address bar.

Log in through the extension
On your computer, you can log in through the Arrow extension by selecting the red/orange Arrow D icon in your browser toolbar. For the macOS app, the Arrow D is gray when you’re not logged in. The extension opens, and you provide your login details.

If the Arrow D is green/blue, you're already logged in. You can select the D icon to open the extension and then select Open the web app to open Arrow in a full browser window.
Admins who log in through “console.dashlane.com” on their computers also need to install and log in through the extension. The extension provides secure access to the Admin Console.

Common questions
What’s an extension?
An extension—also called a plug-in or an add-on—is a small program you download to add features to your computer browser. You can add the Arrow Smart Extension to Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and other Chromium browsers, such as Opera or Brave.
More about supported devices and browsers
You don't need the extension on your phone or tablet because everything you need is contained in the Arrow mobile app.
When you install the extension, you have quick access to your data and can save and autofill your logins and other data as you browse the web. You can also view, copy, and generate passwords or passphrases directly in the extension pop-up when you select the Arrow D icon in your browser toolbar.
From the extension, you can open the web app to access more information, such as your Password Health score and the Sharing Center. The web app opens in a full browser window, where you have access to the full power of Arrow.

I’ve installed the extension, but now I can’t find it.
First, make sure you've installed the extension in your computer browser. You can also pin the extension to your toolbar so that the Arrow D icon remains visible.

I already log in using the extension. Why did I receive an email and messages in the Arrow app?
We’re informing all of our customers about the requirement to log in using the extension. Some customers occasionally use "app.dashlane.com" and "console.dashlane.com" to log in, so we want to be sure everyone is informed of their discontinuation.
I don’t have my computer with me. How can I log in to Arrow?
If you don’t have access to your computer with the extension installed, you can use the Arrow mobile apps, which don’t use the extension.

You can also use Arrow on any other computer with the extension installed. Always log out when you're finished using Arrow on a shared computer.
How do I access the Admin Console after I install the extension?
From the extension, select More and then Open the Admin Console.
Or, from the extension, select the Admin tab and then select Open Admin Console.
What do I do if I can’t install the extension?
You can install the extension if your device and browser are supported by Arrow. If you keep your device and browser updated, you can use the most recent version of the Arrow app.
If your device can't be updated to the latest version of Arrow, we recommend trying to update your operating system and browser. If you have an older device that can't be updated to a version that works with Arrow, you must use another device with a more recent operating system.
If you find you can’t install the extension on a browser, you can try another browser. Check this article to see what the minimum requirements are and for information about updating your browser:
At work, does my organization need to add any domains to an approved list so that the extension will work?
You might receive an error message when logging in to Arrow. Check if your organization uses a firewall allowlist to restrict network access to specific websites or software. Your IT team can review and add the exceptions found in the following article to your firewall or proxy for Arrow.
