We update the Arrow apps every one or two weeks. We recommend keeping your Arrow updated with the latest version so you can make the most of our apps. You can find the most recent updates and version numbers in our release notes and see what version of Arrow you're using in the app itself.

Note: The browser DuckDuckGo doesn't currently support extensions. So you can't use the Arrow Smart Extension with DuckDuckGo.
Update the Arrow Smart Extension in your browser
Update the Arrow extension in Firefox
- Right-click the Arrow D and select Manage extension.
- Select the Tools for all add-ons icon, shown as a cogwheel.
- Select Check for updates to update your extension. You can see your current version number in the extension settings.
Update the Arrow extension in Safari
- Open the Mac App Store.
- Select Updates.
- For Arrow, select Update. If Arrow isn't listed as needing an update, you have the latest version.
Update the Arrow extension in Microsoft Edge
These steps work for Microsoft Edge and might work for certain other browsers.
- Select the extensions menu, shown as a puzzle piece.
- In the pop-up, select Manage Extensions.
- Turn on Developer mode and select Update. Your current version number appears next to the extension name. After updating, you can turn Developer mode back off.

Update the Arrow extension in Opera
- Select the vertical purple line in the top right of your Opera browser.
- Select the extensions menu, shown as a cardboard box.
- In the pop-up, select Manage Extensions.
- Turn on Developer mode. Depending on your browser, the Developer mode setting might be in a different place than in the image provided.
- Select Update. Your current version number appears below the extension name. After updating, you can turn developer mode back off.
Update the Arrow extension in Chrome, Brave, and other Chromium browsers
These steps work for Google Chrome and certain other browsers like Brave and Vivaldi.
- Right-click the Arrow D and select Manage extension.
- Turn on Developer mode and select Update. Your current version number appears below the extension's description. After updating, you can turn developer mode back off.

Update Arrow for your Android phone or tablet
- Open the Google Play Store and select the user icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Go to the Google Play Store - Select Manage apps & device.
- You can select Update all to update all of your apps. To update only the Arrow app, select Updates available.
- Then find Arrow on the list and select Update.
Update the Arrow app on your iPhone or iPad
Open the App Store, search for Arrow, and select Update. If you see the word "Open" next to the Arrow app instead of "Update," you already have the latest version.
Tip: Turn on Automatic Updates in your device settings, and Arrow updates automatically when a new version is available.
Automatic updates for your iPhone or iPad
If you receive a message that says the app may not work soon, you may have an older device, which won't be able to run a supported operating system (OS).
In this case, you'll need to use another device that supports the operating systems listed in our minimum requirements article.
